I write these lyrics in spirit of what I know to be true

Cuz what I need most is a clear point of view

And what I seek most isn’t straight or obtuse

It’s a middle ground somewhere in the center of the room

A lot of days start with a tendency for gloom

But I find ways to walk toward the light by noon

So, when night falls and the clock strikes zero

I’ve found peace of mind in this war with my ego

That it’s me who I fear more than women I see

Yesterday, I bleached my hair just to lighten my spirits
