Sometimes that hardest thing that you can ever do

Is find a way to live a life of always being true

As I write this song I look back

At failed relationships that I’ve had

The good, the bad, the ugly

The happy, the sad, the trusting

So many people I’ve met in my life

So many different streaks of light

And personality types

It gets hard to try and keep track

Like, “Why did it end, was it all bad?”

“Why was she mad, why did he quit?”

It’s not just women I’ve lost to life’s grips

Friends, colleagues, all the same

Relationships were meant to change

I guess that’s life what can you do?

But try your best to remain true

So, I do my job as a friend and son

To mean what I say and do what I love
