Soft, fragrant and composed

Oh, you were born

The deadliest of roses

Wandering eyes could easily cast aside

the antidote of pride

and suckle down your poison

Still frozen in a smile

now I find both my lungs are closing

And my heart splutters at my side

You know you could have lied

and surprised me with this show

Instead, I’m on my knees

With no one else to blame

but the chump who believed

he stood above the game
