Real Boy

You were always more

Symbolic than

Human to me

So solid

Not bones, flesh, water, blood

Not another child

At the mercy of

All this

But you're a real boy

Through and through

And I was once more symbolic

Than human to you

A real boy

Through and through

A real boy

You were statuesque

And everybody else

Moved so recklessly

Trying to find themselves

In the deep, endless blue

All of us were there

Everyone but you

Or so it seemed

But you're a real boy

When all is said and done

And you say you think

That you are

The most

Reckless one

A real boy

When all is said and done

A real boy

You were always more

Symbolic than

Human to me

So solid

Not bones, flesh, water, blood

Not another child

At the mercy of

All this

But you're a real boy

Through and through

And I was once more symbolic

Than human to you

A real boy

Through and through

A real boy
