Let’s suppose, I do this often in vocational guidance of students,
假如，额我经常给一些学生做就业指导
they come to me and say, well,

"we’re getting out of college
“我们马上就要毕业了，
and we have the faintest idea what we want to do".

So I always ask the question

"what would you like to do if money were no object?
“当金钱什么都不是的时候，你们想做些什么？
How would you really enjoy spending your life?"
你做些什么，才会真正享受生活？”
Well, it’s so amazing as a result of our kind of educational system,
额，有幸于我们的教育制度
crowds of students say well
很多很多的学生们说
we’d like to be painters,
我想当画家
we’d like to be poets
我想当诗人
we’d like to be writers
我想当作家
but as everybody knows you can’t earn any money that way
但我们都懂，做这种工作，赚不到多少钱
Or another person says well
还有人说过
I’d like to live an out-of-doors life and ride horses
我宁愿像个牛仔一样在野外生活
I said you want to teach in a riding school?
我说“你难道想在一个骑马学校教书吗。。。”
Let’s go through with it
好吧，管他呢
What do you want to do?
你到底想做一些什么？
When we finally got down to something
当他终于能全心全意
which the individual says he really wants to do
做一件他真正愿意做的事
I will say to him
我会这样对他说
you do that and forget the money
忘记一切关于金钱的意识 全力以赴
because, if you say that getting the money is the most important thing
因为，你如果觉得赚钱才是根本的话
you will spend your life completely wasting your time
你的一生就会这样虚度下去
You’ll be doing things you don’t like doing in order to go on living
你会去做一些你根本不愿意碰的事 只是为了吃口饭
that is to go on doing things you don’t like doing
那就只能做一些你觉得无聊的事了
which is stupid
愚蠢！
And so, therefore, it’s so important to consider this question
因此，我们都应该想一想
What do I desire?
我到底，在接下来的人生中，我渴望什么？
