Life Again

She said that its time

"Bloss have been so tired

For the last five years of my life"

And her hands don't work anymore

All the things she loved,

She can't do them anymore

Then she says,

"while slipping ice cream only in my hand

I want to live my life again

I love my kids and miss my friends,

Revisit the things that I've seen

Act like I'm still 23

I want to live my life again,

It's all been great except its the end

I know it's hard to see

I still feel like I'm 23"

I haven't been back to the country in a while

So when I do go home,

She sits me down and begins my trial

I ask her if they fixed the rectory door

She looks at me with a frown,

Says she doesn't go to church anymore

Then she says,

She's just got old
