The Violin

I was in San Francisco

I was supposed to go on a tour

With this gypsy guy

And one day he told me

That he knows somebody who

Owns a violin that's a hundred years old

And it's from France

So I went into his shop to check it out

And when I saw it first it was really ugly

It didn't have any strings on it or chin rest

Nothing

So I fixed it a little bit

And when I heard that sound I thought

Wow I'm never gonna hear

Anything sounding like this

It wasn't an ordinary violin

It was really rough

And I thought it had an angry sound

And it had a gypsy feeling into it

So I decided to get this violin and since

Then I never left him he never left me

I know that I'm just gonna be

One of the many players in his life

But I just hope that he enjoys his time with me

Because I really do enjoy my time with him
