I Walk Alone

wet paint in the mid-day sun

she sleeps while he writes you poems

been a long night with nothin' going on

the t.v. was glowin'

i walk alone

no sleep, a hero's fate

snow white stuck in an 8-track tape

face down on a feather bed

i was awakened and confused

i walk alone

lazy eye

like an orphan doll

she cries

gets no answer at all

buckle up

bad days are on the way

the sandman is comin'

i walk alone

open house

down in this nowhere town

a rose blooms

while the paint peels down to the brick

and the steps below

someone is hiding

i walk alone

i walk alone
