The Night We Became Wolves

I saw your ghost up on White Mountain

We made a fire and sat close together

The spirit wind whispered secrets to us

Older than trees, older than the seas, older than you and me

And I fed you starlight and the night became very bright

And then we danced and howled at the moon

Barefoot and wild

Naked and dirty

For the ritual

The night we became wolves

You said I should never be afraid

The blood moon has no game

And although I was younger, I knew better than you

I saw three hooded figures standing in the shadow of the moon

And I fed you starlight and the night became very bright

And then we danced and howled at the moon

Barefoot and wild

Naked and dirty

For the ritual

The night we became wolves
