Walking through the plains of Africa

We came across a watering hole

Kneeling down to have a drink

We saw something that we didn't know

Only saw the eyes and ears

And thought it might be dangerous

It was under water but then it came

Out of the water there it was

It was a hippo hippo

Talking about a hippopotamus

Hippo hippo

There it was much to our surprise

The largest hippo ever seen

When we tried to introduce ourselves

Saw something you'd never seen before

The hippo started to dance around

Like a ballerina on a stage

It hardly even touched the ground

Light on its feet there it was

It was a hippo hippo
