There’s a man with a book in his hands,

trying to lead the way

Cos when the sunlight fades, we’re lost in a haze

Longing to understand

As the moon comes to welcome the night,

we find ourselves in light

A mysterious glow, we no longer know

Longing to be right

Some feel so alone,

wanting to be in the know

But can I follow what you say,

There are lines drawn in the sand,

so many stars ago

They’re a sign of times before time arrives

Longing to be heard

Is it a call to pray or play,

nature thrown in disarray

A lifeline holding us in place

Longing to escape

Some look to the past,

asking if we were the last

But can we read into their hearts,

do they tell us who we are, do they tell us the

Some dare to ask

of thoughts no one has had

Looking for reasons,

looking for rhymes

But time, time and again,

those in the know put on a show

Telling things with little sense,

facts that make no difference, they tell us the

There comes a time when there’s no way out

Gotta follow the signs, no drinks allowed

Push a button, pull a lever and pretend that you’re clever

Better late than never

Tell me how the planets spin around and around

You can find what you want from a mountain top

You could hear a needle drop

Faces hiding smiles hiding in my pocket

Or someone’s special treasure under lock in a locket

The color of the wind can set you free
