What Christmas Is to Me

It comes around just once a year

The season's changed, but I'm still here

And I'm waiting on a friend

to come back home

The neighbors got their house and lights

The tree is shining oh-so-bright

But that star, they must have brought down

from the sky

Every year, the town gets snow for Christmas

But all that's only part of what Christmas is to me

It's my sister on the telephone

Dad's asleep before the guests go home

And Grandma's in the kitchen all day

Mom's complaining that the house is cold

My uncle's had more than he can hold

And I'm just sitting on the couch

Hoping that the home team can win

You see, that's what Christmas is to me

Santa's sleigh is on it's way

We got cookies and milk waiting on a tray

And the family's gathered watching "It's a Wonderful Life"

I take a look around and think to myself

"I wouldn't wanna be anywhere else"

It's Christmas time, and I know it's a wonderful life
