The Color Blue

I'd go weeks under the ocean

I liked the color blue

I'd find a ball and chain in the back of my brain

And then enjoy the view

But the deeper I descended

The more that I was wrong

I fooled myself a color right before it had been too long

And tricked myself into thinking that sinking was strong

I took a final sip

Before I faced the truth

And came back up and washed on the shore

I hate the color blue
