Midnight Asks

Midnight asks me to be what I’m not

Have I already forgotten?

You were in your swimsuit

Wearing one yellow sock

Your mind full of worms

And I wonder if mine is not

Midnight asks me to get out of bed

Take the lowlit road to the trailhead

Strip the clothes from my body

Run naked til I am spent
