Ghosts

I wish I knew the bite before howling at your door.

I wish I knew the claws before settling the score.

Covered bodies under rocks and drowned under the docks.

Blood under your nails remove the keys from every lock.

We can take as long to reach the bottom, we can take as long to swoon.

I know a promised to stand strong under full moon.

We sang ourselves to sleep with forked tongues.

We sang ourselves to sleep.

Ghosts too heavy for my hands, I'm seeing red.

by everything we've said and you've let go.

Ghosts too heavy for my hands, I'm seeing red,

I'm seeing red and you've let go.

We drank from the same cup but only turned just one of us.

Broke trust, felt lust, grinding old bones into the dust.

I wish I could've kept you safe I was scared, scarred and unprepared.

For what is done to you you transformed and I just stared.

We can take as long to reach the bottom, we can take as long to swoon.

I know a promised to stand strong under full moon.

We sang ourselves to sleep with forked tongues.

We sang ourselves to sleep

Ghosts too heavy for my hands, I'm seeing red.

by everything we've said and you've let go.

Ghosts too heavy for my hands, I'm seeing red,

I'm seeing red and you've let go.

Bright stars and dark holes crawl into new life.

Can't turn a banshee into a bride a wolf into a wife.

Shape-shift, change place, fangs out, unsafe, grow wings, take flight

Crush everything in sight.

Ghosts too heavy for my hands, I'm seeing red.

by everything we've said and you've let go.

Ghosts too heavy for my hands, I'm seeing red,

I'm seeing red and you've let go.

Shape-shift, change place, fangs out, unsafe, grow wings, take flight

Crush everything in sight.
