Open Up Your Heart

Never get your hopes up.

Never be let down.

Always keep your feet in,

The safest part of town.

Never open up your heart.

Never let them in.

Best to keep your guard up

And stay where you have been.

But can you be encouraged:

You are not the least.

You are not forgotten.

You can be released.

Will you let me hold you in my arms,

Take you through the storm – the hardest part?

Will you let the light into your heart,

Blow away the dark?

Never be discouraged.

Live your life out load.

You’ll never be a follower

If you are always proud.

And be the one who works hard

The one who’s always there.

You break your back and lose your mind

And hope that someone cares.

Will you let me hold you in my arms,

Take you through the storm – the hardest part?

Will you let the light into your heart,

And blow away the dark?

Will you let me hold you in my arms?

Will you let me take you back to the start?

Will you let the light into your heart,

And blow away the dark?

Is it all for nothing?

Or is it all for love?

Is it for your own sake,

Or something up above?

Will you let me hold you?

Will you lean on me?

Will you let the light in,

So that you can see?
