歌词
Somewhere, in my past
There was a next-door neighbor boy
A daredevil in short pants
So spaced-out they called him Elroy
Got caught by policemen
And then stopped coming around
Giving head to a teacher
Somewhere on the high school grounds
His daddy was a taxi driver
And he knew what was going down
His daddy was a champion diver
And his name was all over town
And you couldn't beat that
What a shame, it's such a place to be
And he stood so tall and proud
That day on his knees
He couldn't've said it better if he shouted out loud
But what about the teacher?
And what about the policeman too?
They're living in a one-room apartment
Right next to you
His daddy was a taxi driver
And he knew what was going down
His daddy was a champion diver
And his name was all over town
His daddy was a taxi driver
And he knew what was going down
His daddy was a champion diver
And his name was all over town
Ooh, and you couldn't beat that
Ooh no, and you couldn't beat that
Ooh, no...
Oh yeah!
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
So one day, he looked me up
And took me for a ride
He said love's for kids and fools
And that's the last time I saw him alive
His daddy was a taxi driver
And he knew what was going down
His daddy was a champion diver
And his name was all over town
His daddy was a taxi driver
And he knew what was going down
His daddy was a champion diver
And his name was all over town
Whoa-oh, and you couldn't beat that
No, no no no, and you couldn't beat that
Oh no, and you couldn't beat that
