I got a little red rooster, too lazy to crow for day
Yeah, a little red rooster, he's too lazy to crow for day
Keep everything upset in the hen house, upset in every way
Now when the dogs begin to bark, you know the hounds may begin to howl
When the dogs begin to bark, Lord the hounds may begin to howl
I always know my little red rooster, my red rooster's on the prowl
If you see my rooster, I want you to drive him home
If you see my little red rooster, please drive him home
Ain't been right around the hen house since my rooster's been gone
