歌词

Just a speck of time in history's eye
We forget 9 kids whose courage soared high
Gathered at the entrance with emotions braced
It's disgusting to think of the hatred they faced
September 23rd 1957
They knew what was right and they wouldn't give in
To the slurs, the violence and the threats they would die
They proceeded to enter Little Rock Central High
That was the day that everything changed
None of their lives would ever be the same
They broke boundaries when no one else could
They showed courage when no one else would
The halls were crowded, animosity thick
Students- they cursed and threw bottles and bricks
Teachers- ignored or tried to persuade them to leave
But these kids were stronger than they could perceive
Riots erupted in the streets outside
Bigots outraged that their "society" had died
But these 9 kids would be back the next day
With the 101st Airborne to lead the way
